1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Seenfold collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Verge Clips, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we," "us," "our"), is the data controller for the information described here.
Seenfold is a self-serve way to buy clipping. You build a plan online, pay by card, and give us your content. Independent short-form video creators (Creators) cut it into short videos (Clips) and post them from their own TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, and we count the views those Clips earn against your plan. This policy applies to our websites and services (together, the "Service"). In this policy, "you" means anyone who visits or uses the Service, including a buyer who runs a campaign on Seenfold (a Campaign) and the teammates that buyer invites.
By using the Service you also agree to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
In plain language: we collect what you tell us when you build and pay for a plan, the content and brief you give us to run your Campaign, data about the Clips made for you, and technical information about how you use the Service.
Checkout and Setup Answers
You do not need an account before you pay. When you build a plan and check out, we collect your name and email address, your answers to the setup questions (such as who the Campaign is for, your goal, where your audience is, how you handle clipping today, what has held it back, and the reach you want), the platforms you choose, the plan you pick, and your brief. We also record the IP address your request comes from, which we use for security and rate limiting.
Account and Team Information
After you pay, we create your account from the email address you used at checkout. You sign in with a one-time link sent to that address, and you can set a password later. If you invite teammates, we collect their email addresses and the role you give them (owner, admin, or member). We keep a log of the actions taken in your account, such as changes to the plan, the brief, billing, or your team, and which person took each one.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details with Stripe, and we never receive or store your full card number. Stripe gives us limited information, such as the card brand, the last four digits, the expiry date, and the result of each charge. We keep records of each charge, each change to your plan, and each refund.
Your Content and the Brief
To run your Campaign we collect the content you provide ("Your Content"): footage such as episodes, talks, or demos, links to your content, your logo and brand assets, and the brief you write (for example, the handle or link to tag, what to push, and what must never be said or shown). Footage may contain the images and voices of the people who appear in it. You are responsible for having the right to give it to us, as set out in our Terms of Service. If you appear in content someone has given us and have a concern, email us at hello@seenfold.com.
Communications
We collect the messages you send us, such as replies to our review notes, reports you file about a Clip, and support requests, along with your replies to the emails we send you.
Clip and Performance Data
For every Clip made for your Campaign, we collect the Creator's public handle, the link to the post, and the public view and engagement counts the platform shows for it. This information is public on the platform where the Clip is posted.
Device, Usage, and Analytics Data
When you visit or use the Service, we automatically collect technical information such as the pages you view, the links and buttons you click, your device and browser type, the page that referred you, and timestamps. We collect this through PostHog, an analytics provider that processes the data in the United States. On a share of visits, PostHog also records the session (how the page moved and what was clicked) so we can find and fix problems. Form inputs are masked in these recordings. When you are signed in, this activity is linked to your email address. We also record your IP address, which we use for security and rate limiting.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information to run your Campaign, bill for it accurately, keep the Service safe, and improve it over time. Specifically, we use information to:
- Create and run your account, your team, and your Campaign, including reviewing your content and brief and giving Creators what they need to make and post Clips.
- Process payments, monthly billing, plan changes, and refunds through Stripe.
- Measure delivery by reading the public view counts of each Clip made for your Campaign and counting them against your plan.
- Show you your Campaign's Clips, views, and results in your dashboard.
- Send you service emails, such as your receipt and sign-in link, the outcome of our review, notes when we need a change, word that your first Clip is live, your monthly report, a notice that a payment failed, confirmation that a takedown is done, a reminder before your term ends, and invitations to teammates you add.
- Respond to your messages, Clip reports, and support requests.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and inauthentic activity (such as views from bots or view farms), and keep the Service secure, including by rate limiting requests.
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Understand how the Service is used, through analytics and session recordings, so we can fix problems and improve features.
- Send you product news and marketing where permitted, which you can opt out of at any time.
- Measure how our own advertising performs, if we advertise.
4. Payments and View Measurement
Your card is charged when you check out, then on your monthly billing date, and whenever you raise your monthly views. Payments are processed by Stripe, and you can update your card and see your invoices through Stripe's billing portal from your dashboard. We keep records of your charges, delivery, and refunds to support our delivery guarantee and refunds (see our Refund Policy), tax and accounting obligations, and dispute resolution.
To measure delivery, we read the public view counts that TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube show for each Clip posted for your Campaign, on a regular basis. This means we process data about the performance of Creators' posts and associate that performance with your Campaign. Only Clips made and posted for your Campaign count, and we may exclude views we reasonably believe are inauthentic. Section 6 of our Terms of Service explains how views are counted.
5. Information That Is Public
In plain language: the Clips are public, but your plan and your results are not.
Clips are public. Creators post Clips from their own TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, so each Clip, its caption, and anything shown or said in it (including anything drawn from Your Content, and any handle or link your brief asks Creators to tag) are public content on that platform, along with the Creator's handle and the platform's public view and engagement counts. Where the law or the platform requires it, a Clip discloses that it is paid promotion. Clips stay on Creators' accounts after your Campaign ends, and the platforms, not us, control who can see them.
Your plan and results are private. We do not publish your plan, what you spend, or your Campaign's results. Your dashboard is private to you and the teammates you invite. We will not name you as a customer or use Your Content to promote Seenfold without your permission.
7. Third-Party Platforms
The Service depends on third-party platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Clips are posted on those platforms from Creators' own accounts, and the platforms may collect information from the people who watch or interact with them. When we read public view counts, that data and any interaction with those platforms are governed by the platforms' own terms and privacy policies, not this one. The platforms may also remove, restrict, or limit content under their own rules. Similarly, Stripe, PostHog, Meta, and our other providers process certain information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the policies of any third party whose services you use in connection with Seenfold.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of data:
- Account, plan, and billing records: kept while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and disputes, which may be several years.
- Your Content: kept while your account is open, and deleted when you delete it or ask us to, except copies we must keep for legal reasons.
- Clip and performance data: kept with your Campaign's delivery and billing records. Clips themselves stay on Creators' accounts after your Campaign ends, under the platforms' control.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. To ask us to delete information, email hello@seenfold.com.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, roles that limit who on your team can change the plan, billing, and people, and reliance on established providers such as Stripe for payment data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account by keeping your email account secure (sign-in links are sent there), using a strong, unique password if you set one, inviting only people you trust, and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
11. Your Rights and Choices
You have choices about your information, and depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights.
General Choices
- Access and correction: you can review and update some information, such as your brief, your team, and your card, in your dashboard where available. To access or correct anything else, email hello@seenfold.com.
- Deletion: you can ask us to close your account and delete your personal information and Your Content by emailing hello@seenfold.com, subject to information we must keep for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute reasons. Closing your account does not remove Clips already posted on Creators' accounts.
- Marketing opt-out: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those emails. We will still send service emails about your account and Campaign.
- Cookies and local storage: you can block or delete them in your browser settings, as described in Section 8.
GDPR and EEA/UK Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. We process personal data on legal bases including performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The controller is named in Section 1 and can be reached by email as set out in Section 15.
CCPA and California Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request access and deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money. If we use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising, as described in Section 8, that activity may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, email us at hello@seenfold.com. We do not currently respond to Global Privacy Control signals, so please use email to opt out. You can also block cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@seenfold.com. We will verify your request before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
12. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and we and our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for international transfers of personal data.
13. Children
The Service is for people 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us at hello@seenfold.com and we will remove it.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
15. How to Contact Us
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, email hello@seenfold.com and we will respond directly. See also our Terms of Service and Transparency & Disclosure page.
